This photography workshop is designed as a perfect extension to our Lençóis Maranhenses expedition and an ideal lead-in to the Pantanal wildlife adventure. Whether you join after photographing Brazil’s white sand dunes or continue onward in search of jaguars and exotic wildlife, Iguazu offers an unforgettable transition between two of South America’s most remarkable landscapes.
Shared between Brazil and Argentina, Iguazu Falls is one of the planet’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Nearly 275 waterfalls stretch across almost three kilometers of volcanic cliffs, surrounded by one of the richest ecosystems in South America. Powerful cascades, drifting mist, vibrant rainbows, and lush rainforest combine to create exceptional opportunities for landscape and wildlife photography.
At the center of the falls lies the iconic Devil’s Throat, where an immense volume of water plunges into a narrow canyon with incredible force. Depending on the season, the atmosphere changes dramatically throughout the day, from soft morning mist to golden evening light, offering endless creative possibilities.
The surrounding Atlantic Rainforest is equally rewarding. Toucans, parrots, hummingbirds, butterflies, coatis, and monkeys are all part of this thriving ecosystem, making Iguazu far more than simply a waterfall destination.
During the workshop we’ll photograph both the Brazilian and Argentine sides of the falls, each providing completely different viewpoints and compositions. We’ll also visit one of the region’s renowned bird parks for close-up photography of tropical species in beautiful natural surroundings.
Day 1 — July 7, 2027
Arrival in Foz do Iguaçu.
Guests arriving from our Lençóis Maranhenses expedition or from other destinations will meet at our hotel near the national park. After check-in there will be time to relax before we gather for a welcome dinner and discuss the photography plan for the coming days.
Day 2 — July 8, 2027
Before sunrise we’ll enter the Brazilian side of Iguazu National Park to photograph the waterfalls in the soft morning light before the busiest hours.
Later we’ll visit the famous bird park, where colorful toucans, parrots, macaws, and hummingbirds provide outstanding opportunities for wildlife photography.
We’ll return to the waterfalls in the late afternoon for sunset before crossing into Argentina for the night.
Days 3–4 — July 9–10, 2027
Our focus shifts to the Argentine side, where an extensive network of trails and elevated walkways offers countless perspectives of the waterfalls.
We’ll revisit different viewpoints throughout both days to take advantage of changing weather and light, while also photographing the abundant wildlife found throughout the rainforest. Coatis, capuchin monkeys, butterflies, and hummingbirds frequently make memorable photographic subjects.
Guests wishing to experience the falls from above may also choose an optional helicopter flight.
Day 5 — July 11, 2027
After breakfast the workshop concludes.
Participants continuing with our Pantanal wildlife expedition will transfer onward for the next stage of the journey, while others may depart from Foz do Iguaçu Airport for their international flights home

Cancellation and Refund Policy
We strongly recommend you to get a Trip Cancellation & Travel Insurance after booking your trip. If you cancel and the Workshop is otherwise filled, we will refund you the full amount you have paid towards the tuition, minus a $300 service charge. If you cancel and the Workshop does not fill, then you will be refunded according to the following schedule, based on the full fee of the Workshop:
Greater than 90 days from the start date of the Workshop:
full refund minus $300 service fee.
75 days or more :75% refund 60 days or more: 50% refund
Less than 60 days: no refund Refunds will be paid by the same method that the original payment was made.
What to bring
Gear:
– DSLR or mirrorless camera with tripod and remote shutter release – 2 cameras recommended to minimise lens exchange
– A wide angle lens. For example, Nikkor 14-24 or Canon 17-40. Best lens for use in wide-angle scenes or architecture photography
– A middle-zoom lens such as a 24-70 mm
– A telephoto zoom lens, such as a 100-400 mm
– Drone is recommended
