The North coast of Spain from the Basque Country to Galicia is an amazing and characteristic coast, surrounded by Cantabrian Sea, which was considered for a long time “mare Tenebrarum”, this abrupt and steep coast offers amazing cliffs and flysches that tell the history of the formation of the Bay of Biscay, a coastline where mountains meet the sea, but it also has peaceful bays and inlets as well as paradisiacal beaches. The Cantabrian Sea has forged the character of the population. All this combined with the unpredictable weather, it can be sunny and then suddenly get cloudy, misty or raining and vice versa. All the weather conditions show off the beauty of this coastline in different but beautiful moods. There is no doubt that the northern coast of Spain is one of the most beautiful and unknown coasts in Spain. Spain is widely known for its sunny south and east coast, but the north has a lot of superb photograpic locations and it is probably also one of the most beautiful coastlines not only in Spain but in Europe, it is not by mere coincidence that some locations of the famous show Game of Thrones have been filmed there.
We have an epic place, but in order to make this workshop epic, we also need epic photographers. Can you imagine shooting and learning for a week in such a spectacular area with some of the best photographers in the world? That’s what we are offering you, a week full of emotions and knowledge, where you will learn about composition, about the use of filters (this is a LucrOit Workshop, bring your filters, but if you don’t have any, don’t worry, we will lend you some), planning, processing, and social media with the following LucrOit Ambassadors:
- Daniel Kordan
- Simon Roppel
- Felix Inden
- Jesus M García
- Raico Rosenberg
- Antonio Prado
- Nestor Rodan
- Shadi Nassri
- Lucas Olmedo (LucrOit)
- Namor Pastor (1 night for night photography at Lagos de Covadonga)
Besides being a great place for photography, in northern Spain the food is absolutely delicious, food is part of the culture, the hub of Spanish gastronomy and high cuisine, trying to describe it is a waste of time, so we will go to check it out ourselves by testing some different delicious meals (when not taking photos of course 😉
Day 1, May 19th.
You will arrive at Bilbao’s airport where a FlyBus will pick you up to transfer you to the hotel so that you can check in. We will meet in the lobby at 5:00 pm to get to know each other, form the groups and receive the initial instructions. Each group will go to a different location with 3 LucrOit guides, groups will rotate location and ambassadors, so all groups will visit all of the locations and will be shooting with all ambassadors, learning the way they work and why they do what do; It´s as simple as that, with no secrets, right in the field, taking action with them.
Our first spot for shooting the sunset will be Barrika, Azkorri, and San Juan de Gaztelugatxe depending on which group you are in, some of the locations are scenes of the famous show Game of Thrones, and that’s not through chance, the beauty of these places just will mark you, the magic flowing in the air is something you will feel.
We will have a delicious picnic dinner after sunset, and then we will go back to the hotel for a well-deserved rest.

It is always beautiful, with the misty fog, with the soft light of a cloudy day or with bright sun. Today we are shooting the sunset, in Lagos de Covadonga, but we are going to do night photography too, if the sky is clear we will shoot the Milky Way, then when the moon rises, there will be time for shooting some night landscape and Namor Pastor will be with us tonight to illuminate the scene with torches, this is going to be great fun!!
