The real adventure starts today! After an early breakfast, you’ll set off to explore Vágar Island, beginning with the picturesque village of Gásadalur. Surrounded by towering mountains and lush valleys, this village is best known for the breathtaking Múlafossur waterfall, which plunges dramatically into the ocean. From there, you’ll visit the charming village of Bøur before heading to the stunning Lake Sørvágsvatn. A short hike will take you to a panoramic viewpoint where the lake appears to hover above the sea, offering a surreal perspective. You’ll also capture the mesmerizing Bøsdalafoss waterfall as it cascades into the Atlantic Ocean. As the day winds down, you’ll photograph the dramatic Drangarnir sea stacks at sunset, making the most of the golden light for unforgettable images.
Day 3: Mykines Island – A Seabird Paradise
The day begins with an early morning sunrise shoot before returning to the hotel for breakfast. You’ll then take a ferry to Mykines Island, often referred to as the “jewel of the Faroes.” Home to only a handful of residents, Mykines becomes a bustling haven for seabirds in the summer. You’ll have incredible opportunities to photograph puffins, gannets, fulmars, and kittiwakes as they soar over the black basalt cliffs. The highlight of the day is the hike to Mykineshólmur, a small islet connected by a footbridge, leading to a lighthouse perched above the crashing waves. The journey offers stunning coastal views, making for an unforgettable photography session.
Day 4: Streymoy Island – Majestic Landscapes
Today, we venture to Streymoy, the largest island in the Faroes. We’ll begin at the picturesque black sand beach in the village of Tjørnuvík, with views stretching across the ocean to neighboring Eysturoy Island. Next, we’ll visit Saksun, where traditional turf-roofed houses are nestled in a tranquil valley surrounded by dramatic mountain landscapes. The day will conclude at Fossá waterfall, the tallest in the Faroe Islands, cascading from a height of 140 meters—an incredible location for sunset photography.
Day 5: Eysturoy Island – Coastal Charm
Our journey continues to Eysturoy Island, where we’ll base ourselves in the picturesque village of Gjógv. This charming settlement, with its colorful houses set against a backdrop of rugged cliffs and green valleys, offers endless photographic opportunities. As the day draws to a close, we’ll head to Funningur for a sunset shoot at its historic church, a striking wooden structure with a grass roof, perfectly situated at the mouth of a fjord for a breathtaking composition.
Day 6: Kalsoy Island – Iconic Views
An early morning ferry will take us to Kalsoy Island, home to one of the Faroe Islands’ most iconic viewpoints. A short hike will bring us to the stunning Kallur Lighthouse, dramatically perched on cliffs overlooking the vast ocean. From here, we’ll capture incredible panoramic views of the surrounding islands, including Eysturoy, Kunoy, and Viðoy. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the village of Viðareiði, where the beautifully situated church, set against towering cliffs and the open sea, makes for a spectacular photographic composition.
Day 7: Borðoy Island – Fjords and Mountain Peaks
Our final full day takes us to Borðoy, one of the northernmost islands in the archipelago. We’ll explore the scenic fjords surrounding the tiny village of Árnafjørður, capturing the interplay of light and shadow on the towering peaks. In the afternoon, we’ll hike to Klakkur, a mountain ridge offering breathtaking views over Klaksvík and the Kalsoy Islands.
