Ever wanted to combine perfect vacation destination with landscape&travel photography activities? The magical island of Gods – Bali offers this opportunity to you! As I moved to Bali this year and opened my travel agency here I welcome you to explore it with me. From hidden waterfalls and quiet villages of the East and North Bali to seascapes of Nusa Penida island. This workshop is primarily focused on nature photography. Imagine staying in Luxury hotel in the jungles or resort at the sea and learning photography from me! Including in-field tuition and in-room practice of editing, critique sessions, and just fun in a great company of fellow artists!
Indonesia has lifted quarantine which makes it super easy to get to with Qatar airlines or Singapore airlines to Bali.
Bali island has a lot to offer – rice terraces, hidden waterfalls, seascape photography and rich Hindu culture with beautiful traditions.
Why June? Because it is the best season to visit Bali island. The rain season is over giving opportunity for wonderful sunrises and moreover it is a month of cultures and ceremonies. Most of the streets will be decorated with colorful poles – Penjor! And people will be beautifully dressed visiting temples.
Day 1, JUNE 7
Arrival to Bali on any flight. Our driver will pick you up and transfer to our beautiful hotel in Ubud. In the evening we have welcome dinner together.
Day 2
Our first sunrise we meet at spectacular rice terraces of Pulagan Tampaksiring with a view to magnificent Mount Agung. Bali sunrises are like no other and this morning you have a chance to prove in in person!
On the way back to hotel we photograph the most amazing streets with Penjor poles.
Our sunset location will be lake Batur in Kintamani! With colorful boats and temples and volcanoes on backdrop.
Day 3
Surise at Pinggan Jati temple at Lake Batur or at Tamblingan lake and temple. In daytime we visit one of the hidden waterfalls in the North of Bali! At many locations we will invite locals with traditional dress to be our models.
Sunset location at Tanah Lot Temple. “Tanah Lot” name stands for earth (Tanah) and sea (Lot), and it has indeed a very spectacular setting on top of an impressive rock overlooking the sea.
Day 4
Sunrise at calm Ulun Danu Beratan – one of my personal favorite temples in Bali! Surrounded by flowers and embraced by morning fog with singing of the birds.
After the breakfast let’s visit smaller waterfalls in jungles.
In the afternoon we will have a stage photoshoot at the ancient tree, where we can bring Balinese models in traditional outfit.
For sunset we will experience Jatiluwih rice terraces. With small huts and people working in the fields it has a special Balinese atmosphere.
Day 5
We will meet the first rays of light in the north of Bali with such spectacular views to Mount Agung and vast rice terraces. Easily accessible viewpoint surrounded by flowers offering variety of foregrounds. After sunrise we visit canyon waterfall, and around 9-10 a.m. we might see golden rays piercing the atmosphere.
In the afternoon we will have stages with traditional Balinese culture.
Back to hotel preparing and packing to leave to Nusa Penida next day
Day 6
We start to the harbour in the morning, departing to Nusa Penida island! Get ready for ultimate seascape destination. We will practice long exposures at sea shore locations and experience tall cliffs of Nusa Penida. Tembeling Beach in the afternoon and Broken Beach and Angel’s Billabong at sunset.
Day 7
Today we continue exploring Nusa Penida with the most stunning location – Atuh Beach and then continue to Diamond Beach.
Sunset at Kelingking Beach, the most iconic location of Nusa Penida.
Day 8, 14 June
We’ll practice use of filters for long exposures just near our hotel with minimalistic composition of a lonely temple with Bali island on backdrop. Just after sunrise we will have our breakfast and depart off the island towards Bali by speed boat. We can drop you at the airport or at hotel to stay longer at Bali.
